03 Dec Under 11 Girls Match Report – Sunday 30th November
Bridgend under 11 girls against Brecon, Swansea and Llanishen.
A series of excellent matches saw both Bridgend teams play in five matches each, both teams ended up with four wins and one loss.
After a slow and sleepy start the Bridgend girls really showed how much they have improved this season; with both teams recording emphatic wins against Brecon. Holly James scored two of her three goals in this first match with Ellie money also scoring her first goal for Bridgend.
Beth Kitch and Jess Allen both found the net on numerous occasions, with Beth scoring in each game and Jess managing to get two hat tricks in her 7 goal haul.
Isabel Jones also scored five goals, this is a well deserved reward for her constant running in attack.
Bridgend’s midfield of Catrin Rubery and Mannon Howells never stopped working through the two hours that they were in the pitch, both players providing the link between defence and attack.
Amy Poole, Neesha Jones and Caitlin Thomas formed a formidable defence, breaking down attack after attack; on the occasions that they were beaten, the brick wall that is Rosie Gower was there providing the last line of defence.
In goals Elen ‘Eric’ Hughes and Eva Gough again showed the quality that has marked them out as future stars for the senior section, fearless and combative to the last.
Huge steps forward have been made by the whole team during this, the first half of their first season.
