Lydney 3 v Bridgend Mens 1st XI 3
Having won their opening two league games to date, Bridgend travelled to third placed Lydney looking to keep up their good early season form. With a strong travelling squad, The Ravens were confident going into the game, but despite a poor start, managed to salvage a draw late on. Bridgend took the lead early on through Andrew Jones, only for the home side to respond after a slight mix up in the Bridgend defence.
As the game entered the second period, Lydney had taken a 3-1 lead, but much to Bridgend’s credit, they managed to pull two goals back thanks to Jon Rubery and Rhys Owen, who scored with a great penalty flick. Next up for The Ravens is a home match against league leaders and favourites Cardiff at Pencoed Comprehensive School on saturday at 1:30pm.
