Bridgend 1-0 Cheltenham
Bridgend faced a battle against Cheltenham who put up a strong fight. Bridgend were the stronger team but struggled to convert chances. A staunch defensive display with some great saves from Adrian Hibbert earned the first choice shotstopper a heavily coveted clean sheet.
Bridgend’s goal came from Rhys Owen throwing an aerial over the Cheltenham defence which Tim Hodges ran onto before hammering a cross into attacking partner Tom Pearce who took his chance and deflected the ball past the keeper.
Bridgend 4ths faced a mature and experienced Swansea side at Pencoed.
Despite Taran Moss, Tom Rosser and Jack ‘the lad’ Steer peppering the Swansea goal for most of the first half they just couldn’t find the back of the net.
The second half was more even with Dom Glynn and Dave Collinson bolstering the midfield. A great goal line save by Steve Sloan kept Swansea at bay until they converted a short corner in the dying minutes.
A great effort by the Bridgend team against the side top of the table.
