Bridgend Ladies 1 XI v Whitchurch Saints 3   – Draw 2:2 

First points on the board for Bridgend! Whitchurch were first to get onto the score board, but Bridgend reacted quickly with a shot from Laura Rees being deflected into goal by the Whitchurch keeper. The second half started with Bridgend 2-1 down, however a strong and more focused side in the second half saw Bridgend level the field with a goal from Louise Jones. Bridgend fought hard until the final whistle but finished up with 2-2 draw.


Bridgend Ladies 2 XI v Cardiff Uni 4  – Loss 1:4

Bridgend worked hard against a strong opposition; however Cardiff dominated play in the first half. Bridgend did well to only concede one goal with no goal keeper. In the second half the team played as a stronger unit this pressure resulted in a goal from Hannah Sainsbury, final score 4-1, but was a great effort against a much more experienced side.


Bridgend Men 3 XI v Swansea Uni B – Loss 0:15

Bridgend 3rd X1 fielded its usual team of experience and developing youngsters, but came up against a very youthful and strong Swansea University side, who settled quickly and soon put Bridgend’s defence under considerable pressure. Although conceding 7 goals in the first half Cliff Harrison brought off some magnificent saves.  Bridgend did not give up, attacks did take pace, particularly when Tom Pearce used his skill and speed to create space down the right flank.Bridgend did play some good hockey at times that gives encouragement for the league games ahead.


Bridgend Under 13s

Bridgend U13 played in a round robin tournament on Sunday in Swansea winning 4 out of the 6 games, which was a good effort seeing as this is the first time they have played together.
