Bridgend Hockey Youth Section

Dear Player or Parent ...

With the new hockey season approaching I am keen that we try and increase the number of youth
teams that we are able to support as Bridgend Hockey Club.

In order to do this we will require adult members, or parents of youth players, to assist with the
organisation and supervision of youth sides when they have pre-arranged fixtures. The games, in
the form of mini-tournaments, usually take place once a month on a Sunday morning in the south
Wales area (furthest being Newport or Swansea). Last year we were only able to support the Under
13s girls side in this way. I would like to increase this so that we can put out girls teams in the Un-
der 15, 13 and 11 categories and boys teams in the Under 11s and possibly U15s “If” we have suf-
ficient numbers attending training.

If you are interested in assisting in this important aspect of the clubs development I
would be grateful if you could send me an email.
As is now normal with such aspects of youth sport we will require volunteers to undergo a CRB
check - this is however fairly straight forward and I can arrange for all necessary forms to be sup-
plied and assist in their completion.

In order to support the coaching side of our youth development I am keen to develop the coaching
skills of both new and existing coaches. In order to do this I would need to arrange courses etc.
I would therefore also like to know if you would be interested in receiving training as a
hockey coach ? Again, if interested please drop me an email or give me a call.
